Psychotherapy and counselling

Sessions with Rebecca Flintham are available online and face-to-face at Hub on Rye Hill, Rye, East Sussex.

A safe space

Deciding to see a therapist takes courage, it's a leap of faith and a positive step towards starting to feel better. There are many reasons why we need help sometimes as life can throw us overwhelming challenges. My job is to support you to make the changes you need in your life to feel better in a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space.

The therapeutic relationship

In our sessions we can explore what you want to change and find the tools you need to feel happier in yourself, your relationships and your day to day life. We might look at your patterns of relating; how you think and feel about yourself and others, the things that you don't understand about yourself and your relationships. We can look back into the past to see how it may still be affecting you. For example, the decisions we make in childhood about who we are and how we are might need updating to reflect the person you are now. It can feel overwhelming... where do I even start!? Our sessions are a safe and supportive place to work it out together.

Help when life is difficult

Life is difficult for all of us sometimes, especially when big changes happen; we lose people we love, our relationships breakdown, our job is too much or not enough or we just seem to get into the same difficulties and unhelpful ways of thinking and feeling again and again. Sometimes we don't even realise how unhappy we are; we feel low or angry, we sleep too much or not enough, we drink too much, eat too much or too little, we stop talking to friends or doing the things we used to enjoy. At times it can feel like it might be better if we weren't even here. Talking to a qualified therapist is a big step towards feeling better, learning how to connect more with yourself and others and starting to make the changes you need to live a happier life.
